Reflections in this section of the blog represent both personal thoughts and the completion of an assignment for EDUC 533 Dynamics of Change. The topics will range from Meaningful PE to the Change process and in the end connect the two together as I look to change my teaching practice to focus more explicitly on Meaningful Experiences in PE.
“Moral purpose means acting with the intention of making a positive difference in the lives of individuals, such as employees and customers or clients, and society.” (Berg, 2018, slide 7)

The following quote from the group presentation on Chapter 6 of the Fullan text really struck home with me.
"TOO MANY PROJECTS!!! - Problem in schools: Productive disturbance is likely to happen when it is guided by moral purpose and when the process creates and channels new tensions while working on a complex problem. " (Harrison, Vienotte, Poole & Squires, 2001, slide 7) So another area of the LAMPE project that gave me food for thought was the idea of using spirit points in PE. The concept of spirit points is basically an assessment of your opponent during ultimate frisbee and is based on their team spirit, sportsmanship, rule knowledge and general behaviour during game play.
Relationship building is a key aspect to creating a culture of change in any organization. Without creating the relationships needed a leader will not be able to garner the support to have the changes initiated.
In my reading of Dr. Fletcher's work on meaningful physical education the concept that stood out most to me was the idea of "Delight" as an explicitly planned for goal in a physical education class.
